It is with great sadness that we put forward this appeal for Mozambique Horse Safari. As you may have heard, recent protests in Mozambique, sparked by disputed election results, turned violent with the intervention of the military. Social media and the press have painted a horrifying picture, now seen around the world. Tourism has been devastated by the ongoing political turmoil, and our beloved horses are feeling the profound effects.
Normally, this would be our busiest time of year, yet the beaches stand empty. The tranquillity of Vilankulo feels like a world apart from the chaos in Maputo. The dramatic decline in visitors has pushed us to the brink, and we will soon to struggle in providing the essential care our horses so desperately need. We have created a fundraising campaign to help us through this difficult time.
With the ongoing uncertainty, I’m appealing for funds. If you’ve visited Mozambique Horse Safari or read One Hundred & Four Horses, you’ll know how much they mean to us. Our family business has been running for over 18 years, offering riding holidays, volunteer experiences and day rides. We care for 42 horses and have devoted our lives to their well-being and to supporting our dedicated team of staff. Please help us through this challenging time.
Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly to the care of these incredible animals who have given so much to our community and visitors.
Lots of love,
Mandy & Pat
